Baton Rouge Community College is planning an expansion of the college’s footprint at a development underway in Baton Rouge known as Ardendale (formerly Smiley Heights). The college plans to construct a state-of-the-art Technology Center within this forthcoming mixed-use development, which also includes a residential neighborhood, retail establishments and a charter school. A key offering at the Baton Rouge Community College Ardendale campus will be automotive technology, which will train workers in sophisticated computer systems for hundreds of jobs a year in Baton Rouge alone. Currently, the closest equivalent training centers are in Texas and Georgia.
